The incident reportedly unfolded around 7:45 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, when a brother, Roy Walters, who resides in the lower flat of the two-story house, heard shouting from upstairs. Upon attempting to investigate, he found the doors locked. He then enlisted the help of another brother, Lester Walters.
Brothers Intervene Amidst Confrontation
The two brothers managed to force open the back door to gain entry. Inside, they were reportedly confronted by the 55-year-old suspect, who allegedly armed herself with a knife and advanced towards them. The brothers were able to disarm and restrain her. After subduing the suspect, they discovered Barbara Crawford seated motionless in a chair in the hall. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
