Disneyland Resort Undergoing Major Enhancements, Attraction Refurbishments Amidst 2025 Military Offers and 70th Anniversary Preparations

ANAHEIM, Calif. – As of June 23, 2025, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, is navigating a significant period of transformation, marked by extensive refurbishments across its hotels and classic attractions, alongside the phased rollout of its 2025 military benefits and anticipation for the park’s upcoming 70th anniversary.

Multiple key locations are temporarily unavailable as part of strategic enhancements aimed at maintaining the resort’s world-class standards. Guests visiting in the coming weeks and months will observe these changes as Disney continues to invest in its guest experience.

Hotel Enhancements and Closures

Within the upscale Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, notable changes are underway. The acclaimed Napa Rose restaurant is currently closed to guests as it undergoes an extensive refurbishment. This signature dining location, known for its California Wine Country-inspired cuisine, is expected to remain closed through Fall 2025, with a reopening anticipated later in the year.

Further bolstering the premium offerings at the Grand Californian, plans are in motion for the construction of a new, two-story club lounge. This exclusive amenity is slated to be built on the 5th and 6th floors of the hotel, designed to offer guests elevated services and views overlooking the hotel’s iconic grand lobby. Concurrently, guest room renovations are proceeding throughout the hotel. These updates are being implemented in phases and are expected to continue through the fall, minimizing disruption where possible while modernizing accommodations.

2025 Military Ticket and Hotel Discounts

Disneyland Resort continues its long-standing tradition of honoring U.S. military personnel with special offers for 2025. The 2025 Military Ticket discounts are available for purchase through December 23, 2025. This includes the popular 3-Day Military Promotional Park Hopper Ticket, which is priced at $295. This represents a $26 increase compared to the price offered for the 2024 tickets, reflecting broader pricing adjustments.

In addition to ticket savings, eligible service members can also access Military Hotel discounts. These special rates are valid for stays on most nights from January 1 through December 27, 2025. Bookings for these discounted hotel stays must be made by December 23, 2025, aligning with the ticket purchase deadline.

Attraction Refurbishments and Reopenings

Several beloved Disneyland park attractions are temporarily closed for maintenance and enhancements, impacting guest itineraries as of late June 2025. However, reopening dates have been announced for some.

The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, located in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A., has been closed since April 16, 2024. It is scheduled to welcome guests back on July 17, 2025. Upon its reopening, the attraction will feature a new presentation titled “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” offering a refreshed perspective on the park’s history and its creator.

Nearby, the whimsical Meet Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow character greeting location remains closed but is set to reopen soon, specifically on June 29.

A classic Adventureland experience, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, which closed on April 28, is scheduled to return to operation on July 3.

Conversely, some major attractions have ongoing closures with no immediate return date published. The iconic Matterhorn Bobsleds, also closed since April 28, does not currently have a publicly announced reopening date.

Furthermore, the popular simulator attraction, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, located in Tomorrowland, is scheduled for a temporary closure beginning June 29 for its own refurbishment. Like the Matterhorn, no specific reopening date has been published for Star Tours following this upcoming closure.

70th Anniversary Preparations and Digital Content

Looking ahead, preparations are undoubtedly in motion for Disneyland Park’s significant 70th anniversary. While specific park celebrations for the milestone are anticipated, the Disney+ streaming service has announced plans to commemorate the occasion through digital content.

In honor of the park’s 70th anniversary, Disney+ revealed intentions to stream over a dozen new Point of View (POV) experiences showcasing popular Disneyland attractions. This initiative aims to bring the sensation of experiencing rides directly to viewers at home. Attractions slated to receive this POV treatment include fan favorites such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones Adventure, Radiator Springs Racers, and Incredicoaster.

These new POV streaming experiences are scheduled to debut on Disney+ on July 17, coinciding with the reopening date of the Mr. Lincoln attraction with its new show.

The confluence of ongoing hotel renovations, strategic attraction refurbishments, the release of specific military benefits, and forthcoming digital content highlights a period of significant activity and investment across the Disneyland Resort as it approaches a major historical milestone.
